Sony Is Offering PlayStation 5 Pre-order Registration

Sony has some good news for fans and enthusiasts eagerly waiting to get their hands on the soon-to-launch PlayStation 5.

The company is offering preorders for a brand new PS5 at launch. Despite not being able to provide a final price or release date to go along with it. Pre-order registration essentially means that you can now head over to Sony’s official product page for the PlayStation 5. And reserve a unit in advance.

Remember, this is with respect to pre-orders and not adding to cart. Pre-orders have not begun yet. But should you register, you will probably be the first in line to be able to do that as and when that opens. There are a few terms and conditions that must be fulfilled. The biggest being, whether you are lucky enough to be among the first few ones to buy the PS5.

Another interesting point is that the PS5 will use an 825GB super-fast SSD, with tech that’s not available off-the-shelf at the moment. While that might not seem like a lot of storage space given the current PS4 Pro comes with 1TB of hard disc storage. The fact that it’s using next-generation SSD tech does make it compelling.

Sony PlayStation 5 now open for pre-order registration

If you want to try, the access page is here. And if you get in, the maximum you’ll be allowed to order will be: 1 PS5 Console or 1 PS5 Digital Edition, 2 DualSense wireless controllers, 2 DualSense charging stations, 2 Pulse 3D wireless headsets, 2 Media remotes, 2 HD Cameras

The PS5 is forecasted to launch in November, so we’re expecting to hear more about it before that in terms of models and prices. So far it looks like the PS5 will be expensive. But with games like Horizon Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7 on the horizon. It just might prove to be worth the asking price.

Galaxy Note 20 Ultra vs iPhone 11 Pro Max – Camera shootout

The Galaxy Note 20 and iPhone 11 Pro Max both take amazing pictures

The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra comes to this fight with three rear cameras, including a 108-megapixel main wide-angle camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera and a 12MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom and 50x Space Zoom. Samsung also includes a laser auto focus sensor along with a 10MP selfie shooter.

Apple’s iPhone 11 Pro Max answers back with a triple rear camera array consisting of 12MP wide camera, 12MP ultra-wide camera and 12MP telephoto lens that can achieve 2x optical and 10x digital zoom. And this phone has some special photo features of its own, including Deep Fusion for better detail and next-gen Smart HDR.

Note 20 Ultra vs iPhone 11 Pro Max – Night mode

The iPhone 11 Pro Max produces a brighter shot, as you can make out the basket more clearly as well as the fruit inside. The lemon and especially the apples down below are less visible in the Note 20 Ultra’s photo.

Note 20 Ultra vs iPhone 11 Pro Max – Produce

The Note 20 Ultra delivers punchier colors overall, especially in the the green, orange and red peppers. But once again the iPhone 11 Pro Max produces more natural-looking hues along with more detail when you zoom in. The wooden cases also look sharper with the iPhone’s camera.

Note 20 Ultra vs iPhone 11 Pro Max – Flower

The Note 20 Ultra starts out strong with this comparison of a flower taken outdoors. The red in the petals is closer to real life, while the iPhone 11 Pro Max’s shot introduces more violet. The white balance also looks a bit better in the Note’s shot. To the iPhone’s credit, the white area of the flower pops a bit more against the background, and the background is more in focus.

Note 20 Ultra vs iPhone 11 Pro Max – 10x zoom

This is where the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra pulls ahead. It offers a 5x optical zoom and a 10x hybrid optical zoom that delivers a considerably sharper image. You can make out more detail in the tree that straddles this creek, as well as in the surrounding leaves and the pebbles in the foreground. The iPhone 11 Pro Max manages to not blow out some of the sunnier highlights, which the Note 20 Ultra does.

Note 20 Ultra vs iPhone 11 Pro Max – Portrait

The Live Focus mode on the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is plenty capable, as it delivered a good bokeh effect on this portrait. The iPhone 11 Pro Max captured a warmer portrait with more even lighting overall. But the iPhone’s photo also looks a bit too warm.

Galaxy Note - Portrait

Note 20 Ultra vs iPhone 11 Pro Max – Verdict

The iPhone tends to deliver more realistic colors, while the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra leans toward more saturated hues. So which you prefer may depend on your tastes. I personally like the iPhone 11 Pro for portraits and selfies, and its Night mode is more effective.
Where the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra pulls ahead is with its 108MP sensor and especially its more powerful zoom. The iPhone 11 Pro Max simply can’t go as far as the Samsung. Although the upcoming iPhone 12 Pro could narrow that gap with a telephoto that cuts in closer.Galaxy Note

How Nintendo Will Be Celebrating Mario’s 35th Anniversary

This year marks the 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. But Nintendo has been particularly quiet for most of this year.

Despite this being a major anniversary for their company’s defining character. Nintendo does not have any major plans in the works to celebrate Mario’s 35th anniversary. Or at least, there are no official plans announced yet.

Rumors have swirled for months as to how Nintendo would be celebrating Mario’s anniversary. With many believing a Super Mario All-Stars Collection could be their big plan. From the news gathered, All-Stars collection is in the works. But there’s no word as to when it might be released. Leaks have also revealed that Super Mario 3D World port will also be coming to the Switch. But again, there is no confirmed release date.

Normally, Nintendo Direct would announce games of this magnitude. But it’s been nearly a year since the last official, full Nintendo Direct and there doesn’t seem to be any planned for the near future. It’s safe to say COVID-19 threw a wrench into Nintendo’s plans for this year.

Still, their company’s Fall and Winter lineups look particularly barren. Which would imply they still have some games yet to be announced. There could be a Nintendo Direct in the works that fans have no knowledge of, or Nintendo could simply announce the game through Twitter, as they did with Pikmin 3’s Switch port.

Nintendo - The 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros
The 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros

Super Mario Bros

On September 13th, 1985, An Italian plumber named Mario with a propensity for jumping on mushrooms and turtle shells introduced to the world. From that day on, the platforming genre was the never the same. Since the release of the original Super Mario Bros. Mario has become one of the most recognizable characters in all of gaming and has helped turn Nintendo into the gaming juggernaut they are today. This year marks the 35th anniversary of Nintendo’s signature character and they will roll out the red carpet in celebration.

While it would be surprising if Nintendo completely overlooked Mario’s 35th Anniversary, especially after LEGO and Hasbro made it a point to celebrate, there are only so many months left in the year. If Nintendo wants to make this the year of Mario and celebrate the 35 year anniversary of Super Mario Bros. They’ll need to do something sooner rather than later.
