FACEBOOK: No more “Like” Button for Pages and rolls out new features

Facebook recently announced about new update on Facebook Pages to make it simpler for creators; to build their community and achieve their business objectives. The removal of the ‘Like’ button on the Facebook Page is a significant change to its experience. It will simplify the way people connect with their favourite Pages and put the focus on Followers. “Unlike Likes, Followers of a Page represent the people who can receive updates from Pages, which helps give public figures a stronger indication of their fan base,” Facebook says. Creators will have a better indication of how many people receive updates from their Pages through the changes.

Other updates will include a new intuitive layout, dedicated News Feed, easier navigation between a personal profile and Pages, actionable insights, safety features, and a new feature where creators can host an engaging Q&A to their followers. Like on Instagram, The Q&A update will let users engage with their fans when they ask questions in Stories. So creators speak to their Facebook followers about the topics that interest their fans in a fun and engaging way.

A dedicated News Feed for Page will allow it to make conversations with other Pages, public figures, and Groups on trending content. To brands, advertisers and influencers, this feature could benefit on their new product launches and brand announcements.

Another outstanding update is the new integrity and safety features. It make Page creators identify posts and comments from authentic Pages and profiles easier. “We want Facebook to be a safe place to connect with fans, so we’ve improved our ability to detect activity that isn’t allowed on our platform including hate speech, violent, sexual or spammy content and impersonation,” Facebook adds.
