iPhone 12 Pro Max has a 3,687 mAh battery according to regulatory filing

Apple launched its iPhone 12 series to the public recently and the pre-orders of the phones were already done last week. Today, we are going to talk about the iPhone 12 Pro Max and an aspect of it which is important for a lot of people. That is about the battery life which is directly dependent upon the battery capacity.

Every time a phone is launched, Apple says that its newest iPhone is bigger and better than ever before. This is true for every phone in the latest series but is definitely true for iPhone 12 Pro Max. However, there is at least one area where it is not better compared to iPhone 11 Pro Max. And that is in battery capacity.

Apple does not reveal what the actual battery capacity in their latest phones in terms of mAh. But does tell us in percentages how much it is better compared to last year. Regulatory filings do tell us how much the battery capacity actually is inside the iPhones. And iPhone 12 Pro Max just passed regulatory filings which revealed the battery size of that phone. Reportedly, it has a 7% smaller battery compared to its last year’s counterpart.

iPhone 12 Pro Max has a 3,687 mAh battery

As far as actual numbers are concerned, the iPhone 11 Pro Max had a 3969 mAh battery whereas the iPhone 11 Pro Max has a 3687 mAh battery capacity. It means that the iPhone 11 Pro Max had a 4000 mAh battery while the iPhone 12 Pro Max has a 3700 mAh one.

If the batteries are smaller than last year, it means that Apple feels confident with their processors. However, whether or not Apple could have given a 4000 mAh battery on the iPhone 12 Pro Max and included the 120Hz panel. Since the argument was that 120Hz kills the battery, a bigger battery or one similar to last year could have done the job.

In Apple’s defence, the 5G support inside these devices could have taken up some space thanks to a separate 5G modem required on the phones. So they might have been forced to reduce the capacity. End of the day, it was a choice for Apple to make either to include 5G support or 120Hz. And Apple decided to choose the 5G.

League of Legends Preseason 2021: 5 Things We Want

League of Legends Preseason 2021 is bringing lots of new features to the game. New items, champions, and even a new in-game item shop. But with every update, many player wants fall through the cracks. Let’s take a look at the top five things players want out of the upcoming League of Legends preseason.

League of Legends Preseason 2021: 5 Things We Want

LOL 2021

1. A Fixed Client

Riot Games has produced one of the most popular video games of all time and even helped propel esports to a new level with League of Legends, but year after year the client seems to get neglected. Riot seems incapable of producing a League of Legends client that isn’t constantly crashing or filling with bugs. Take the time and fix it.

2. Better Matchmaking

With over 100 champions and countless mechanics to learn, League of Legends is hard for new players as it is. An update to matchmaking to identify smurf accounts earlier and place them in higher MMR games will make a world of difference in attracting and keeping new players.

3. New Keystones

League of Legends Preseason 2021 is heavily focused on improving gameplay mainly through item changes. It may be time to take a look at updating keystones and runes. Very little variety exists in which runes to pick, with conqueror and ravenous hydra being dominant choices for almost any fighter. New incentives to pursue different rune paths would add a much needed variety.

4. Easier Blue Essence

Collecting blue essence is a fairly difficult task. Players are only guaranteed to receive 50 per day and that’s only if they win a game. It can be found in chests or through selling champion shards, but getting chests and then having the keys to open them is another process on its own. Bringing back a system like the original influence points system will help players unlock more champions and revive lesser played ones.

5. Reduce the Cost of Mastery Tokens

With blue essence already being difficult to acquire, charging players over 2000 of it to unlock champion masteries is quite expensive. It forces players to choose between unlocking a new champion (or multiple) and showing off their achievements with another champion.

Hum To Search: Google feature can figure out the song stuck in your head

Sometimes you get frustrated thinking about a song, especially when you don’t know the name of that song. Google will help you with new feature. ‘Hum To Search’ lets you search for songs just by humming them.

Do you know the song that goes “la laa laa la la la la la”? We all know how annoying it is when you can’t remember the title of the song or any words but the melody is in your head. No artist name, lyrics or perfect pitch required. Google can help you figure that song out.

Google announced a new “hum to search” feature that allows users to hum or whistle a tune to find out the name and artist of a song. This feature will let you hum, whistle, or sing the nasty song that’s stuck in your head, then use machine learning techniques to try to identify that song.

The “hum to search” feature only available on mobile devices in the Google app on both iOS and Android, or in Google Assistant.

Hum To Search feature can figure out the song stuck in your head

You just tap the newly added “search a song” button or ask Google “What’s the song”. And then hum, whistle or sing your song’s melody for 10-15 seconds before Google registers results.Google uses a machine learning algorithm to identify potential song matches and show you results. And then, you just tap results to listen to it.

Google using its machine learning models to “transform the audio into a number-based sequence representing the song’s melody,”. Then, it can compare to existing songs. They says that it trains these models on “a variety of sources, including humming, whistling, humans singing or studio recordings” removing things like vocal quality or the instruments to focus just on that numeric sequence. Consequently, the hum to search feature should work whether you’re tone-deaf or have perfect pitch.

The new hum to search feature is available today in English on iOS and in more than 20 languages on Android, with plans to add more in the future.

StarCraft 2 Update Moves Game To Legacy Support

StarCraft 2 With No More New Content

Blizzard has announced that they are moving StarCraft 2 to legacy support. And that there will be no more StarCraft 2 updates with content going forward.

In the open letter to the StarCraft community, Rob Bridenbecker explained that Starcraft II updates going forward will be similar to those for StarCraft: Brood War. What this means is that they’ll fix bugs, keep it working technologically, make balance changes, and season changes. There will be no new content, including no more Commanders and War Chests for sale. Blizzard further states there will be no Q4 StarCraft 2 balance change this year, as they did a change a few months ago.

What does this mean for Star Craft 2 esports?

Given StarCraft 2 esports prominence, it is natural to wonder what the change to ongoing Starcraft 2 support means for the esports competitors and leagues. In the letter, Blizzard says that Star Craft 2 esports will continue running through partners ESL Gaming and GSL.

Will there be a StarCraft 3?

One of the big questions that is naturally asked at a point like this is what this means for StarCraft the IP going forward. Blizzard says that the ‘good news’ of this announcement is that it will “free us up to think about what’s next not just with regard to StarCraft II, but for the StarCraft universe as a whole.” This prominently doesn’t mention about StarCraft 3 or any other StarCraft game. It is worth remembering that Blizzard has considered moving StarCraft outside the strategy realm before. And with the famously cancelled StarCraft Ghost.

Rob Bridenbecker closed out the letter with the followin,

“You are one of the most passionate, creative, and dedicated communities in all of gaming. We’re eternally grateful for your ongoing support. And we’ll keep you updated on any and all plans we have for future voyages into the Koprulu Sector.”

Fortnite NFL: Epic Games Offers Refunds for the NFL Skins

Back in July, we saw a monumental name change in the world of EA’s Madden NFL 21. The National Football League team from Washington announced the decision to change its name to something not considered to be a racist slur. They eventually settled on the relatively safe Washington Football Team. This real-life change has since spawned some ramifications in the gaming world. Outside of the aforementioned Madden NFL 21, it would seem that Epic Games will take a similar stance in Fortnite. Subsequently, the Fortnite NFL skins have been revamped.

According to Fortnite Intel, the Fortnite NFL skins previously made available in 2018 have removed the offensive name and logo. The eight skins consisting of Rush, Juke, Interceptor, Blitz, Strong Guard, Spike, Gridiron, and End Zone still retain the colors of the Washington Football Team though.

Fortnite NFL skin Refund

In lieu of the change, Epic Games is allowing players to get a refund for a limited time. Best of all, you can do so without the use of a refund token. Entering the game will see an in-game message informing players of the initiative. You will be able to refund any Fortnite NFL skins, until the deadline of November 13. With players only getting three refund tokens, this move will enable players to make an easier decision. Normally, the tokens can be used to claim refunds on any eligible items within 30 days of purchase with no questions asked.

To obtain a refund, simply head to your profile page in the settings. Select Lifetime Return Requests, and you should be able to see the Fortnite NFL skins as an option. If the option is unavailable, it could be due to the fact you’ve already used all of your refund tokens. You may need to play a game or enter and leave Creative mode to get the option to display properly. The refund will net you 1500 V-Bucks, which can then be used for other purchases such as Halloween skins.
